Refund Policy

1. Introduction

At SwedishAutoGuard, we strive to provide clear and transparent information about our refund procedures for car insurance premiums. This policy outlines when and how refunds are processed, as well as any conditions or limitations that may apply.

This Refund Policy is subject to the terms and conditions set forth in your insurance policy documents. In case of any discrepancy between this Refund Policy and your policy documents, the terms in your policy documents shall prevail.

1. Satisfaction Guarantee

SwedishAutoGuard offers a 100% satisfaction guarantee on all our products. If you're not completely satisfied with the quality, freshness, or condition of any item in your order, we will provide a refund or credit at our discretion.

This guarantee applies to both one-time purchases and subscription deliveries.

2. Eligibility for Refunds

You may be eligible for a refund in the following circumstances:

  • Quality Issues: Products that are damaged, spoiled, или otherwise not up to our quality standards upon delivery
  • Missing Items: Products that were charged but not included in your delivery
  • Incorrect Items: Products that were delivered but different from what you ordered
  • Late Delivery: Deliveries that arrive significantly outside the scheduled delivery window, resulting in product spoilage
  • General Dissatisfaction: If you are unhappy with a product for any reason

3. Refund Request Timeframe

To be eligible for a refund, you must notify us of the issue within:

  • 48 hours of delivery for quality issues, missing items, or incorrect items
  • 24 hours of the scheduled delivery time for late deliveries

We strongly recommend that you inspect your order as soon as possible after delivery to ensure timely reporting of any issues.

4. How to Request a Refund

Refund Request Process:

  1. Contact Customer Service: Reach out to us via email at [email protected], by phone at (800) 123-4567, or through the "Help" section in your account.
  2. Provide Order Details: Include your order number, the items you're unsatisfied with, and the reason for your dissatisfaction.
  3. Documentation: If possible, provide photos of the product issue to help us address the problem effectively.
  4. Review: Our customer service team will review your request and may ask for additional information if needed.
  5. Resolution: We will process your refund or offer an appropriate solution within 2-3 business days of receiving your request.

We do not typically require you to return perishable items. For non-perishable products, we may request that you return the item before processing a refund. If a return is required, we will provide instructions and may cover return shipping costs depending on the circumstances.

2. Policy Cancellation and Refunds

2.1 Cooling-Off Period

In accordance with Swedish consumer protection laws, you have a 14-day cooling-off period after purchasing a new insurance policy. If you cancel your policy within this period and no claims have been made, you are entitled to a full refund of any premiums paid, minus a small administrative fee of 250 SEK.

2.2 Voluntary Cancellation After the Cooling-Off Period

If you choose to cancel your policy after the 14-day cooling-off period, refunds will be calculated on a pro-rata basis. This means you will receive a refund for the unused portion of your premium, minus an administrative fee of 500 SEK. The refund amount is calculated as follows:

  • Determine the number of days remaining in your policy period
  • Divide by the total number of days in the policy period
  • Multiply by the total premium paid
  • Subtract the administrative fee

For example, if you paid 12,000 SEK for a 12-month policy and cancel after 3 months:

  • Days remaining: 275 (assuming a 365-day year)
  • Proportion remaining: 275 ÷ 365 = 0.753
  • Refund before fee: 12,000 SEK × 0.753 = 9,036 SEK
  • Final refund: 9,036 SEK − 500 SEK = 8,536 SEK

2.3 Cancellation Due to Vehicle Sale or Deregistration

If you cancel your policy because you have sold your vehicle or it has been permanently deregistered, you will receive a pro-rata refund as described in section 2.2, but with a reduced administrative fee of 250 SEK. You must provide documentation confirming the sale or deregistration.

2.4 Cancellation by SwedishAutoGuard

If we cancel your policy due to non-payment of premiums, fraud, or material misrepresentation, refund calculations will follow the terms specified in your policy documents. In cases of non-payment, no refund will typically be issued. In other cases, refunds will be calculated on a pro-rata basis as described in section 2.2.

3. Premium Adjustments and Refunds

3.1 Mid-Term Adjustments

If you make changes to your policy during its term (such as changing vehicles, adding or removing drivers, or modifying coverage options), your premium may increase or decrease. If the changes result in a decrease, the difference will be refunded on a pro-rata basis with no administrative fee.

3.2 Duplicate Payments

If you have inadvertently made duplicate premium payments, the duplicated amount will be refunded in full with no administrative fee. Please contact our customer service team as soon as possible if you notice a duplicate payment.

3.3 Overcharges

If we have made an error resulting in an overcharge of your premium, the overcharged amount will be refunded in full with no administrative fee, plus interest at a rate of 2% per annum for the period during which the overcharge occurred.

4. Refund Methods and Timing

4.1 Refund Methods

Refunds will generally be processed using the same payment method that was used for the original payment:

  • Credit/Debit Card: Refunded to the original card used for payment
  • Direct Debit: Refunded to the bank account from which the payments were collected
  • Bank Transfer: Refunded to the bank account specified by you
  • Swish: Refunded to the Swish number associated with your account

If the original payment method is no longer valid or available, we will contact you to arrange an alternative refund method.

4.2 Timing of Refunds

We process refund requests within 10 business days of receiving all required documentation. Once processed, refunds may take additional time to appear in your account, depending on your payment provider:

  • Credit/Debit Card: 3-5 business days after processing
  • Bank Transfer: 1-3 business days after processing
  • Swish: Usually immediate, but may take up to 24 hours

5. Non-Refundable Fees

The following fees are non-refundable under any circumstances:

  • Policy setup fees
  • Credit check fees
  • Document processing fees

These fees will be clearly disclosed during the purchase process and in your policy documents.

6. Special Circumstances

6.1 Death of the Policyholder

In the unfortunate event of the policyholder's death, the policy can be canceled, and a pro-rata refund will be issued to the policyholder's estate with no administrative fee. The executor or administrator of the estate must provide appropriate documentation.

6.2 Bankruptcy

If the policyholder declares bankruptcy, the policy can be canceled, and any refund will be issued according to legal requirements and may be subject to claims by creditors.

6.3 Policy Transfer

In some cases, such as when selling a vehicle, the policy may be eligible for transfer to the new owner rather than cancellation. Please contact our customer service team to discuss this option, which may involve different fee structures than cancellation.

You also have the right to contact the Swedish Consumer Insurance Bureau (Konsumenternas Försäkringsbyrå) or the National Board for Consumer Disputes (Allmänna reklamationsnämnden) for independent guidance and dispute resolution.

8. Changes to This Policy

We reserve the right to modify this Refund Policy at any time. Any changes will be posted on this page with an updated "Last Updated" date. Changes will not apply retroactively to refund requests already in process.
